About the Author
Scott C. Esplin earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Southern Utah University. He later received a M.Ed. and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from BYU, focusing on the history of the LDS Church academies. Prior to joining Religious Education at BYU, Brother Esplin taught for the Church Educational System for nine years. Richard Neitzel Holzapfel holds a Ph.D. in ancient history from the University of California Irvine and is the author or editor of numerous articles and books. He has taught at the BYU Jerusalem Center and has served as the publications director of the Religious Studies Center at BYU. Brother Holzapfel currently presides over the Alabama Birmingham Mission.
