About the Author
Azitej Anand, born on 8th April 1990 in India is a poet and a story writer. Mr. Anand belongs to a middle class family and at the age of 24 he wrote his first book, i.e. “Renovation Is My Aim” in 2014, the book is an excellent fusion of thirteen poems which add a different taste and flavor to its readers. Further, he accelerates his work in the realm of poems by writing ten more poems related to different aspects of nature and society that touches the central core of many readers. His famous poems are - An Umbrella Girl, Sufi-Standing on the verge, Goodbye, Ode to pebble, Weeping Candle, Future Imputation, Heal the miniature, Imaginative face on the floss, Vidai (A valediction) etc. He completed his matriculation from Blue Bells School, Naraingarh (Ambala) and due to some reason his family, which is of four members that is a father, mother and elder brother shifts to Gurgaon city. Mr. Anand than by living in Gurgaon completed his Secondary Examination in Science Field from R.T.R.G.V school, Sureraha. It is his graduation from English which induces an everlasting enthusiasm in him in the realm of writing. After graduation in the realm of English, he moves towards attaining higher education and is now pursuing Post Graduation in English stream from Govt. P.G College; sect-9. He is now with his family residing in the Bajghera village in Gurgaon city. Good Reference

This book is a great reference for any structural engineer's library, although it is definitely more of a graduate/PhD level. For instance, as a working structural engineer for 10+ years, I really haven't needed such a reference. But now that I am in graduate school, it is a great book to have. Maybe after learning the content in it, I will use it when working, but that remains to be seen.

A bible for 'analytical analysis of stability of structures'

This text book offers extensive collections of analytical analyses of stability of structures. If you want to find a great book about analytical methods (rather than numerical techniques). This book is the one. It's hard to imagine a textbook that can beat this one in next 10 years.
Btw this Dover version is an offordable version from its 1991 version from Oxford university press.

Inspirational and Easy Reading--Refreshing

All the books in this series are good reading if you are looking for something that is not too heavy but is easy reading and inspirational. The description of the places the main character visited on his journey across America added interest but were not so detailed that I got bogged down in them. I read all five books in about a month and looked forward to each one because I read them at night to relax before going to sleep. Alan encountered many different characters in his travels and each one represented experiences we all deal with ourselves and with the people we know. The tone of the books is wholesome and it is refreshing to read stories that leave me feeling refreshed rather than tired, hopeful rather than depressed and encouraged rather than despondent. I always looked forward to sharing Alan's journey across America.

This is by far one of the BEST BOOKS THAT I HAVE EVER READ. To me it is a Beautiful Story about Alan Cristoffersen's life after the death of his wife and continuing on to begin a new life for himself and move forward. You have to be a very strong person not to shed a tear when reading parts of this book and especially the last pages of it when he reaches the end of his journey and puts his feet in the water and then he sets down and opens the envelope with the letters from his Dad and Mom and begins to read them, WOW. and then he turns around and his friend is standing behind him and there for him. To me " A PERFECT ENDING TO A PERFECT WALK AND A NEW BEGINNING"

I totally enjoyed the entire walk series, Mr Evan's always inspires personal introspection with his writings as he takes you with him in his books .Walking on Water brought new surprises and the ending was no exception. I'm sure we have not heard the end of Alan and some of the people he met along his journey. P.S.Thanks for The Walk,tell next time.

L. Pichon says that when she was little, she loved to draw, and her mom said she was very good at making a mess (this is still true today). "Read It and Go Ha! Ha! Ha!"

Here's a titanic trans-Atlantic heavyweight match: Jeff Kinney's Wimpy Kid and Dav Pilkey's Captain Underpants versus Liz Pichon's Tom Gates and anyone in a David Walliams book. Classic. And the smart money is on the duo from the U.K. Walliams is the current king of kid lit in Britain with most of his books holding most of the top spots on everyone's lists. But the Tom Gates books, and there must be a half dozen by now, are holding their own nicely.

Tom Gates is a fifth grade boy whose innocent hi-jinks always seem to get him into trouble. Undaunted, he is a master of excuses, explanations, stories and embellishments. He is neither whiny nor wimpy nor particularly devious. Rather, he is just one big bundle of life, energy, optimism and gung-ho deadpan knuckleheadedness. Titles in the series describe his "Brilliant" world, his "Fantastic" world, his "Excellent" world and his "Amazing" world, and that pretty much sums up his cheerful and whole-hearted embrace of life.

The book is printed to appear like a hand written diary, with loads of drawings and doodles, which makes it easy to approach and read and easy to like. The supporting characters - parents, teachers, mates, classmates, and long suffering sister - all add their bits to the action and are sketched with great insight, if not always affection.

The book has a few over-arching plot points, (trying to score concert tickets and trying to have a band), some sub-plots, (crushing on a class mate Amy, who thinks he's an idiot), and a lot of one off set pieces, (class trip to the museum). This keeps the action moving at a fast pace and keeps us from getting bogged down in any complicated plotting. We flip through Tom's school year the same way he does, careening from emergency to emergency and just trying to stay afloat.

But bottom line - it's funny, it's honest in an exaggerated way, and it features a hero who, by gosh, you just like. Can't do much better than that.

Please note that I bought this book on spec because of its great buzz. I'm happy I did. I have no connection at all to either the author or the publisher or the marketing agent of this book.

Yay! My 8 year old finally found another series that he is as obsessed about as Wimpy Kid! My son is not a big reader - he doesn't find many books interesting enough to hold his attention for long - but he LOVES these books. This series is relatable to most kids in upper elementary and middle school. I'm just very happy he's found something that he enjoys to read. If your child likes Wimpy Kid - he'll love this series! It's very funny and similar design style.

About the Author
Dick DeVenzio gave his life to sports and to the pursuit of excellence. The son of a successful basketball coach, Dick grew up wanting to be a basketball star.�He was named best high-school point guard in America by Parade magazine and went on to earn Academic All-American and Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) all-star honors at Duke. Considered by many to be a basketball genius, Dick’s writings have inspired countless coaches and athletes. He died in 2001 at age 52.
